For Manuel Herz, Architecture must move beyond the single building. By reinterpreting metabolism—not merely as transformative architecture, but as the biological cycles that sustain a living cell—we can design for larger, resilient systems. By viewing the building as one intervention within an interconnected environment, we can create meaningful resource cycles. This systemic approach does more than function; it generates beauty, pleasure, and enjoyment, transforming how we conceive of our urban context.
