Michael Schindhelm is a Swiss filmmaker and exhibition curator. He served as director of Theater Basel, founding director of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, and general director of the Berlin Opera Foundation. He is a member of the Cultural Heritage Committee of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority in Riyadh, and is working on AI applications in science communication, including a project on longevity and Chinese medicine in collaboration with HKBU. He was involved in the master planning of the West Kowloon Cultural District Hong Kong and has produced several films featuring architects such as Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas, and Herzog & de Meuron.
LIFE BOWL is a pioneering immersive and interactive science communication project curated by Michael Schindhelm in collaboration with media art pioneer Jeffrey Shaw (Director of the Visualization Research Centre at Hong Kong Baptist University). It creates an open, participatory space where the frontiers of Western molecular medicine and the systemic wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine engage in dialogue about healthy life and longevity. -- Michael Schindhelm on Design in Dialogue: Connect + Transform
