Aurel Aebi, born in Oberdiessbach, Switzerland, in 1966, is an architect, designer, and co-founder of atelier oï. Trained in architecture and interior design at the Athenaeum in Lausanne, he later received an honorary doctorate. Since founding atelier oï in 1991 with Armand Louis and Patrick Reymond, he has helped shape a transdisciplinary practice spanning architecture, interiors, product design, and scenography. Known for its philosophy “Form Follows Emotion,” the studio collaborates with international brands including Louis Vuitton, Foscarini, and Rimowa. Aurel Aebi also supports design education and humanitarian initiatives, reflecting his belief in creativity, teamwork, materials, and social impact through meaningful projects.
